I was really disappointed in this book after looking forward to it releasing on Amazon. First there was a lot of repetitious cut and paste from previous books explaining background details. For 100 pages that's a lot of cut and paste. Then there was Sal and Lany having sex . . . I'd say 1/3 of the story details all that. Then the family goes on vacation to a tropical island, but there's trouble in paradise and. .. . That plot's been done before. I realize plots and tropes can be done to death, but I knew who was behind everything, which was strange, almost like I've read it before. And Eddie, where did he disappear to when everything went down? He came with the SWAT guys. What about Mrs. Martinez. When did she show up? I mean three of Sal's team when looking for her and did they find her? Obviously they were tied up so I wondered how she knew where to go. Just two things that show inconsistency in the flow.Nothing new here, no character growth, everyone has a bit of page space, and of course the kids adore Lany and Sal. I do wonder about Agent Burke always dropping his work to see what Sal needs. Who does that? And when will Marcus get a boyfriend? 2 Stars, the story felt rushed. - Dan's Wife Any story that has Lany and Sal and all their various friends and family is a 5 star in my opinion. Lany and Sal are at the top of my favorite fictional couples.I thought this story, even though it was shorter than usual, was rich with fun and excitement. One reviewer complained about too many intimate scenes with Lany and Sal and I have to agree but it's such a small complaint compared with all the other events. I especially like the relationship Lany and Sal have with their children. I'm a sucker for damaged children finding a better life. Lany is such a fun, caring, full of life character. I'm hoping for more stories and would love to see happiness for Lyn and Clarke. Also for other characters such as Eddie, Vinnie and Burke. I just like these books and all the characters so much.
